Buffalo Sabres Roster : Updated July 14, 2009

I have been trying to figure out a way to keep an updated roster available with all (note sarcasm) the signings the Sabres have made.  I figured that the chart they use at Mile High Hockey would be the perfect way to keep you up to date.  Just follow the jump for the latest Buffalo Sabres roster.  If you otice anything that should be changed let me know.

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t it seem pretty likely that we’re going to spend over that 50 million budget this year? Stafford, Mac, and Sekera aren’t all going to sign for just over a million combined and I’d like to think that we won’t be letting any of them walk. Where did that number even come from? Did someone ever specifically say it or is that something we’ve estimated? Either way, I think we’ll be over it – even if we manage to trade away some salary.

It is definitely starting to look that way. They won’t go over $52 million so they still need to shed some salary.

Sabres Roster

The salary figures for Pomiville, Stafford and Kaleta are missing from on the right side of the spread sheet. Even without those numbers, the Sabres cannot meet or come under 50 million for payroll. Either the owner allows that cap to be exceeded, or one or more trades will need to be made.

Might need wide view

Pominville salary shows up here but Stafford and Kaleta have no salary. I could probably make it less confusing by putting RFA in there.
