Morning Links: Kassian on the Sidelines and Weber is Ready

Buffalo Sabres - Features: KASSIAN RIDING SHOTGUN - 07/08/2009
Kassian is anxious to get out on the ice and I think the fans are anxious to see him on the ice. He will be one of the players I will be watching when the Sabres main camp begins in September.

Buffalo Sabres - Features: WEBER: "THIS IS MY YEAR" - 07/09/2009
In the two days that I was at Development Camp he looked great. Weber and Myers played together and it's a pairing that I would like to see in Buffalo for years to come. Make sure to check out the video link as well.

Anton Babchuk, anyone? - Nucks Misconduct
Nucks Misconduct points out that Anton Babchuk is still available. He is one of the better free agents on the market. How would he look in a Sabres uniform?

CANOE -- SLAM! Sports - Hockey NHL - Phoenix - NHL accuses Moyes of trying to derail Coyotes sale
The saga in Phoenix continues. I know how hard it is when your team is in bankruptcy so I feel for all the Coyotes fans.

Pens sign defenseman Jay McKee - PensBurgh
It looks like McKee is off the market. The Penguins were in need of a replacement for Hal Gill and McKee appears to be their man.

Kassian is a beast and very excited to see him in blue and gold soon.
I hope Weber puts it together this season as much as he does. What a great kid with an unreal work ethic who could really help our blue line at both ends.
I would love to see Babchuck playing for the Sabres this year also, but it just won’t happen. His price would not be unreasonable and would help the void left by Jaro.
The Coyotes are a joke and so is this ownership debacle. Sell the team to the Blackberry guy and move them to Hamilton where people love hockey no matter how much the team may suck.
Glad the Pens signed McKee so now every sentimental Sabre fan can stop fantasizing about Jay’s shot-blocking machismo somehow turning our team around. He’s old, slow and should probably retire. Don’t get me wrong I love #74 but his time is up for the NHL.
Hudler to KHL? You can have him.
