Could Jay McKee come back to Buffalo where he enjoyed many successful years. This would be a another great PR move by the Sabres front office.

Not the same dude

The injuries took their toll. Granted, if any team would want to sign him in addition to the Blues paying him money this year and next, it would be the Sabres.

I think he stopped drinking his milk when he signed as a free agent.

If he comes at a discount he is a better option than Teppo Numminen. I was one of the few people that didn’t criticize the Sabres for letting him leave but I think he would be a great fit.

How much of a discount are you talking about?

He should come cheap

I wouldn’t pay him more than $2 million/season and even that seems like a stretch. His skills have diminished because of injury but he still knows how to play the game. If Chris Chelios has what it takes to play defense at 47 years-old than Jay McKee still has some game left in him.

$1.5 would be my limit. In saying that, if they sign McKee they really do believe that none of the young defensemen are going to be good enough to make the club.

With him getting the buyout payments from the Blues for two seasons

that number is probably close to realistic.

I hope so

I would love to have him back as a 5-7 defenseman.
