Morning Links: NHL Invades Las Vegas

There has been plenty of criticism of the NHL for moving their awards show to Las Vegas.  Tonight we will have an opportunity to see how bad they failed or whether they will silence their critics by putting on a good show.

For the life of me I can not figure out Jim Balsille. Why does he continue to do things that upset Gary Bettman? In the end he may someday get a team in the NHL but why wouldn't he just play by the rules instead of pulling childish acts like this one?

Washington Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau on Pittsburgh Penguins' Cup win: I couldn't bring myself to cheer for them - ESPN
"The rivalry is pretty heated between the two teams, so normally you always want the team that beats you to win the Cup so you can say, 'Hey, we did great. The only team that beat us was the team that won it all,'" Boudreau told ESPN.com. "But it was really a hard time cheering for them. Now that they've won, it's definitely a motivating factor for me with the team. But I was still hoping for Detroit. I couldn't bring myself to cheer for Pittsburgh. But since they won, I may as well use it."
