Lindy and Darcy are on Notice
Tom Golisano and Larry Quinn today announced that General Manager Darcy Regier and head coach Lindy Ruff will return next season in their current roles with the organization. Ownership is very excited to have these two individuals return to help lead the organization back to the playoffs next season.
With this announcement today, it puts both of these individuals on notice. Both of their contracts are running out next season and they both need to not only make the playoffs, but advance deep into the playoffs I feel to garner a contract extension. This business is a show me now business and right now neither of these two have shown us anything.

I still think both are going to be here unconditionally until the Sabres aren’t profitable.
Whether they win or not.
Unfortunately.

My exact sentiments
You’ve got a cheap owner who’s in Florida all winter and could care less (or know less) about the Sabres.
Boy – same old/same old with the Bills and Sabres. Nothing much changes except end-of-the-year disappointments for loyal Buffalo pro sports fans.

who cares what I think
but I’ll say it any way…letting Cunnyworth out of the organization was one of the biggest mistakes they could have made…he could turn around a prospect and get them NHL ready…I think we saw that drop off this year with the sub-players brought up during times of injury…we need another minor league coach like that, one that Lindy and Darcy can trust to develop the players the right way

Kevin Dineen is doing as well of a job in Portland that Randy Cunneyworth would be doing there. The sub-players you saw were rookies in the AHL. They were no where near ready for prime time but we wanted to see what they could do.
That being said, I don’t see ownership renegotiating contracts with Lindy and Darcy if they aren’t performing. They also aren’t going to buyout two contracts and double pay for a new GM and coach. That’s why these two are on notice. They have to perform next season or they will be out of the organization.

of corse they have to win
no wins get fired real quick , and the minor league coaching need to step it up too. of corse, getting rid of some bagage they have taking up space on the roster, lest we forget, get a couple of bigger stronger players , thats right, i forget they gave away those players. it seems to me , tho , they also are lagging on some team chemistry.
i dont think the players beleive in the very team itself. nothing short of the lord stanley’s hardware it seems would work for the fans . now we get to see what management is about. really .
heart , will, pure determination and everything else you want to call it,they were just getting loses. seems like they were fleecing the fans.
the players get paid to win not lose. but yet alot of the players look like they were figure skating long streches through the whole year they are gone.
no matter who ever stays and who ever leaves, you guessed it, of corse they have to win. and they have to beleive it too.
