Tim Connolly Signs Two Year Extension

Connolly-3-21-08-big_medium

G A P +/- PIM
2008 - Tim Connolly 11 15 26 2 8

TSN is reporting that Connolly has signed a two-year $9 million extension.

Here is how I feel about that.  Connolly is a great player if he can stay healthy.  Right now, he is staying healthy as well.  Connolly is a player that the Sabres need because he is the playmaker that the Sabres need.  But there is the inherient issue with the contract because he hasn't shown the propensity to stay healthy.

This now means that the Sabres are probably going to stay put because their largest trade bait has been extended.  No team is going to be crazy enough to take on a contract that big with his injury history.

Don’t forget to use the widgets for stats, etc.

Interesting deal considering the injury problems.

i was going to fanshot this also

i think we overpaid a little bit….he’s a great player, only problem is most times he isn’t playing because he’s hurt.

still a great signing – when on the ice there is a noticable difference. Glad they are keeping him and hope they keep stafford as well.

peace out Max, Hecht – find some other team to suck on

Oh. Uh, will you hold my wallet for me while I take the test, please? There's a thousand dollars in there... or maybe there isn't. Know what I mean?

That’s a big concern I have. I want Stafford resigned but that cap space is really starting to get filled up quickly.

Good move by the Sabres.

He certainly has his place… now let’s hope it’s on the ice and not in the training room.
