The Sabres have gone
from “big games” to “must-wins.” This is another. We caught a break with the Thrashers top player out but, then again, we don’t have our number one goalie.
Whatever……Go Sabres! (Go UB, too (basketball) and USA (baseball) and Syracuse……wow, a great night for sports viewing.

The refs are being charitable
to the Thrashers.
I usually don’t complain about how the referees call the game – and yeah, it’s been a close game.
Still.
I tend to complain more than you do but this is bad in my opinion. They haven’t called the Thrashers for any penalties despite Lalime getting run once.

but I think we finally found a certain goalie’s weak spot.

This team already knew they weren’t playoff bound. It took them 25 minutes for us to tell them that.

Amazing how the Sabres can look so listless and then – wham! I was starting to depressed watching this game but not now. ha ha
I had a feeling that it was about to happen. They had two or three really good chances before they finally scored. I will admit that it was starting to look bleak, almost like Lehtonen was going to be unbeatable tonight.
Let’s remember that there are still 20 minutes of hockey left.

I have to disagree.
Unless you mean they looked listless last game too.
In that case? I’ll remind you that the defense continues to play pretty damn good with our backup goalie in the net.
Not the kind of game a Cup team plays right now – but let’s wait a few weeks on that.
Dammit. Being an optimist again. :-)
Don’t get me wrong…they did some things well but they just seemed to lack a spark. They were letting the Thrashers control play, basically just sitting on their heels.
