Sabres Scoring Woes Continue
Just a short recap because I didn't see the game tonight. I seen the score and that tells the story of this team as of late. The Sabres have struggled to put the puck in the net lately despite playing pretty good games against the Ducks and Canes.
If this team has any chance of turning things around, they need to score goals. We all worried that the loss of Miller would be the demise of the Sabres season and yet it's the offense that has struggled.
I'll have more oon this tomorrow but comment away. I'll leave you with a couple of questions to answer.
- With the recent string of losses...are the Sabres buyers or sellers at the deadline?
- What has been the main reason for the Sabres recent scoring slump?
- Are you happy with Lalime as the Goalie if Miller is not back for a couple of weeks or worse yet...a month?
Roll Call
Thanks for keeping the thread going in my absence. I should be around more often now that the season is done for the Junior team that I broadcast for (at least my season is done). Also let's welcome a new member to the group...glad to have you on board imnotreallyscott.

1) The Sabs should be sellers but I agree with Darcy in that they should get back long term players (contract wise). Let’s be honest, this team, even if it claws into the 8th spot is going to get bounced pretty quickly. The Sabs have slowly gone over the course of 4 season from a 4 line team to a 1 and 1/2 line team. They are closer than some but still need to restock.
2) Watching the game in person, a) the Sabres CANNOT pass the puck out of their zone. Clearances are terrible and they have trouble getting anything started. b) There were at least 3 “broadside of the barn” opportunities that the Sabs missed. Its all the players, just not accurate enough.
3) I wasn’t happy with Patrick before but the last 2 outings, he has been very good. He has trouble controlling the puck in his own crease (bobbling it constantly) but its the team not playing well in front of him more than his efforts.
The population of Pominville keeps rising!
Good points
Could the Sabres be like our other professional team, the Bills – a team of PERHAPS overrated players who can’t get the job done on offense? Just asking.
