Daily Links for Wednesday, Dec. 9
Hockey is back tonight, with the red hot Washington Capitals visiting the Arena. I hate watching Caps game because every time Ovechkin touches the puck I find myself praying, shutting my eyes, or just saying "no no no please no" over and over. And that will happen about 50 or so times tonight. It's as stressful as watching the old Heatly-Spezza-Alfredsson line in their prime, but if they were all rolled into one player.

A preview of tonight's game, which will hopefully have a better outcome than the last two.
Sekera out of lengthy workout | Sabres Edge
Sekera is questionable for tonight's game, so a call-up is possible with Grier, Gaustad, and Butler still out. The really weird thing about yesterday's practice is - brace yourself - Adam Mair was practicing with the top line. Talk about shaking things up...
A Buffalo Sabres Christmas | Top Shelf
Heather is back at Top Shelf with an homage to a Charlie Brown Christmas, done Sabres style. Heartwarming to say the least.
Entitlement vs. Reality | The Hockey News
Justin Bourne takes a look at what takes a promising young star and turns them into an entitled brat. It's the type of typically uncensored inside look Jason is becoming famous for.

hahaha.
That first period is exactly how I feel. Two of the biggest Sabre killers. Ovechkin, then the old H-S-A line. Kovys another one with the “no no no” feeling.
"I don't know how to explain it but we seem to find eachother on the ice and make things happen... Yeah. Pass, shoot, score... Yeah. Pass.. Shoot.. And score."
aaaand by first period I meant first paragraph. Got hockey on my mind haha.

tough test tonight
we’ll see how the sabres respond to that ugly performance with the devils. check out the game preview folks.
Interesting that Mair is playing on the top line. Normally I’d complain, but he was one of the only Sabres forwards exerting any sort of effort on Monday (especially his back-checking effort), and its nice to see him rewarded for it. Maybe it will motivate the rest of the team to try to earn a top line spot. As far as Mair being effective on the top line, I’ll wait and see what happens before I make a judgment.
If Sekera and Butler are out, we’ll put Paetsch on defense and call up a forward, correct? I would actually like to see them call up Mancari. He had the balls to request a trade, not show up to training camp, and then eventually settle for playing in Portland. If he wants a shot at the NHL that badly, maybe he really has something to prove? He’s much larger than Ennis and Gerbe, so he could play on the fourth line without being useless. I know the Sabres won’t do it, but it would be a nice way to shake things up IMO.
