Game Notes
- The Sabres and the Leafs met in Buffalo on Friday night. The Sabres were victorious by a 5-2 margin but four goals were scored against Vesa Toskala.
- Toni Lydman has a goal and two assists in his last two games for the Sabres.
- If you need to get to sleep early tonight, it should be fine. The Sabes are 15-0-0 when they lead after two periods and they are 1-10-0 when they are trailing after two periods. Their record when tied after two periods is 5-0-3.
- The Sabres have improved to a plus-13 goal differential when playing 5-on-5. The Leafs are a minus-2 when playing 5-on-5.
- Tim Connolly leads the Sabres struggling power play with points. Connolly has three goals and nine assists with the man advantage.
- Jason Pominville has four assists and is a plus-5 in three games against the Leafs this season.
- Paul Gaustad is expected to play in his 300th NHL game tonight.
- The Sabres are 2-1-0 in Monday night games this season; the Leafs are 3-2-1 on Monday nights.
- Thomas Vanek and Patrick Kaleta will both miss the game with injury, Nathan Paetsch will play on the fourth line.

Can ANYONE tell me what the logic is behind playing Paetsch at forward and leaving Ennis in Portland? Seriously, I don’t get it. At all.

agreed, i’d love to see the kid play again. maybe they don’t want to take anymore players from portland? they’ve been turning things around as of late
Yeah, people sometimes forget that Portland plays games too and they might need some players.

haha thanks. If the Monster was good that means offensively we must have had some good chances. I dont like giving up 13 shots but 7 or 8 were in the first few minutes from what it showed on yahoo.

Well, to any leaf lurkers out there you should know that Myers is a really great kid. The media about him has been a bit much but you have to admit this kid’s potential is pretty exciting.
