Ryan Miller's Heroics
Praising Ryan Miller's extraordinary work has become a common theme. Without him, the Buffalo Sabres wouldn't be hanging onto a fifth place position in the Eastern Conference. Facing the worst squad in the league, the Carolina Hurricanes came to play yesterday and had a 1-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Outshot 24-15, the Sabres arose in the third period with five unanswered goals but it was Miller's two magnificent saves which sparked them. While Buffalo was on the powerplay, it was Carolina that had the two finest chances courtesy of sloppy actions.
Luckily, we have a Vezina Trophy caliber goalie and he was there to bail us out once again. The audience gave him a standing ovation following the two stops. As Rick Jeanneret said, "we are not worthy".
