Rivet, Kaleta out tonight, Gaustad to miss a few weeks
Craig Rivet skated today for 15 minutes and should be back in the lineup for Monday. Gaustad, on the other hand, is expected to miss a few weeks with his injury. Pat Kaleta heard from the league office today and Lindy Ruff expects a suspension for Kaleta.

No news is good news?
I still haven’t heard any official word about a suspension, and it’s 3 hours to game time. Could this mean no suspension?

I’m glad it’s the same as Ovechkin’s since the hits were more or less identical apart from kaleta actually playing a player with the puck… oh wait.

Well the good news is the next 2 games are against Carolina and Toronto
The bad news is:
1.) Gaustad, Rivet, and Kaleta protect everyone else on the team
2.) Kaleta should not have been suspended to begin with
3.) I’m home for Thanksgiving break and going to the game tonight, wanted to see them all play.

Looks like Adam Mair and Steve Montador will have to step it up as our enforcers. It would have been cool if they had called up Cody McCormick or Jeff Cowan as a fourth-liner instead of Paetsch, just to see something different… but oh well.
I wouldn’t underestimate Carolina, they will be extremely desperate after giving up a 3-goal lead in the third period last night. I wouldn’t be too surprised if they won, given the Sabres’ history with losing to the bottom-feeders and winning against the top teams in the league.
I hope the Sabres do win, though. Is Lalime playing?
