An item in today's in the Daily Herald, a suburban Chicago newspaper:

"Center of attention: Defenseman Brian Campbell enjoys the fact he still gets booed by Sharks fans every time he touches the puck in games at HP Pavilion for leaving as a free agent. "Wait until Buffalo," Campbell said.

That game Dec. 11 will be Campbell's first back in Buffalo since he was traded by the Sabres to the Sharks when they knew he wasn't going to re-sign with them as a free agent."

What do you think? Will he be booed in Buffalo?

I would think so just because he left on pretty much the same terms as did Drury and Briere. Besides, its fun to boo players that leave the team on unsightly terms.

I think he will definately be booed. The team made an effort to resign him at a fair price, but he and his agent gambled they could get considerably more. Their gamble clearly paid off, but I don’t think anyone here would have liked the Sabres to pay what the Blackhawks paid. When it seems its all about money, the fans of Buffalo WILL absolutely boo you. If you leave for other reasons (performance, a trade, or b/c you don’t think this team is competitive enough) you might not get booed.
