Sabres Edge: Ennis to make NHL debut
This will be the second Saturday in a row, a Sabres rookie will make their debut. Last week Jhonas Enroth started in goal against the Boston Bruins, this week Tyler Ennis will make his debut against the Philadelphia Flyers. Ennis will replace Drew Stafford who suffered a hip-flexor last night and is out of the lineup. It's disappointing to see Stafford out of the lineup but exciting to see Ennis get a shot.

Don’t get this one. Maybe it tells you how they really feel about Mancari. This (to me) would be a game it would make the most sense to bring him up for. A RW goes down for a game against a slow and physical team, and Mancari doesn’t get the call? Toss in the fact that Grier’s a scratch too. They must really, really not like him.

Mancari is too good for the AHL, not good enough for the NHL.
Calling him up proves nothing, and would speak negatively about Ennis’ progress.

That pretty much sums it up.

Waivers
Mancari would have to clear waivers and Ennis can come and go freely. Portland has struggled this season and he means a lot to that team…if this is a short term injury this move makes the most sense. I’m not sure anyone would claim him because they had an opportunity to sign him in the off-season but still it’s not worth the chance.

Ok. I’ll say that makes some pretty good sense then. Actually, a lot of sense.
