Pro Quality. Fan Perspective.
Around SBN: Ole Miss-Alabama: "Let's Go Eat.Wait. What Happened?"

I didn’t watch the whole game Saturday, but enough to ask these questions...

What happens when Lydman comes back?  Myers definitely has to stay in the
lineup.  Is this where they finally part ways with Paetsch?  I doubt it.  I bet
Hank just gets the bench.  Myers will stay up with the team until his ten games
are up, and then he’ll be sent back to junior hockey.  Darcy will wait for an
injury somewhere, and unload someone, and recall Myers for the season.  This is
just my prediction, and is based on my belief that Myers can come back to the
NHL after being reassigned to juniors.  Am I correct in that last sentence?  I’m
not even sure myself…

What happens when Mair comes back?  Kennedy has impressed me as of late.  I
think he’s ready for the NHL now, and never knew he had a little nasty to him.
Also, I didn’t realize he’s only 173 - I think he plays bigger than that.  My
guess once Mair comes back is Ellis getting the boot.  Would someone pick him
up, or would he make it through waivers and go to Portland?

I heard Bulldog say this, and I agree - why is Myers wearing number 57?  Why
can’t he wear a normal number?  I like Kennedy as a 13 though…

How does Paille get back into the lineup, and where?

Montador played with more skill than I expected.  I was looking for Hal Gill
like skating, and Randy Wood like hands.

What’s wrong with a little originality in choosing a number? Maybe the number 57 means something to him. I like the number choice, because off the top of my head, I can’t think of another player that wears the number. At least he’s not telegraphing his age via jersey number a la Crosby/Kane.

I'll take a crack at this

When Lydman comes back, Hank goes to the press box. There will be no roster moves because Lydman is already on the roster.

Myers is probably wearing 57 until the nine games is up. He could still be sent back to juniors and he probably wants to make a statement that he knows he hasn’t earned a roster spot yet.

When Mair comes back it will be interesting. I think Kennedy played well but it really depends on what this team needs at the time. I think they are hoping for an injury so they don’t have to make a move yet.

two 57's

we have to be the only team with two players who have worn 57. Its an odd number but then again a lot of great players in league histoty had wierd numbers lets hope thats what it leads to saying the number 57 and thinking of only one player in history!!

Would love to see Myers stay for the year and Hank take a seat (until that injury bug hits the team, which it will). I’m pretty sure we cannot recall him once he goes back to Juniors, but I’m not 100% on that. I agree with DO that he is wearing that number until he makes the team for good. Then he will probably choose a real number like Kennedy did.
I agree that when Mair returns, Ellis sits down. Could not agree more that Paille needs to get back on the ice. I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I’m a huge fan of Paille’s play.
I would have to disagree with your comment on Montador, he looked more like a Matador on Moen’s goal.

I agree about Montador, he should have cleaned Moen’s clock. But he’s been good.

hank to the bench and ellis to the ahl i think giving mair the spot and paille as the bench rider til someone ends up in ruffs dog house.

Got some work to do before being a playoff team let alone a contender again!

You mean until someone replaces Paille in the dog house? Because it appears to me somehow Paille is already there by being a scratch in the 1st game. He’s a much better player than Ellis and should bump him to the bench unless Ruff is pissed at him. Again.
