Morning Skate: Paille Traded to Bruins
I know this post is a couple of hours later than it normally is but I thought it was important to wait and get reaction to the Paille trade. There are many really good posts on the Paille trade and some other gems to add in as well.
Reality and Roster Spots | The Goose's Roost
Another good Paille piece with a look at Darcy Regier and Tim Kennedy.
Top Shelf: On Daniel Paille
Heather has a look at Daniel Paille and what she thought of him. As always it's a very good read with some good analysis.
Sabres Acquire 3rd Round Draft Pick - Buffalo Sabres - News
It's funny how the other media organizations and the blogs have titles that read "Paille Traded" or some other variation while the Sabres site has this title.
WGR 550 SportsRadio - Home of the Buffalo Sabres - Rough Practice For Sabres
We could be in for quite the game tonight if they are banged up. I have to wonder how hard the puck hit Vanek considering his broken jaw last season. The Pominville injury sounds like one of those injuries that could linger throughout the season.
Myer's Makes Big Impression - Buffalo Sabres - News
Defenseman Tyler Myers, all 6-foot-8 of him, is doing his best to make it easier on the Sabres' long-time general manager as the countdown.
Gleason: Hockey trend worsening by degrees : Sports : The Buffalo News
Bucky Gleason comes through with a must read piece in the Buffalo News. This is not about the Sabres so it doesn't have it's normal sarcastic tone to it.
Misses as good as a mile for Sabres : Sports : The Buffalo News
A little more insight into why the Sabres struggled against the Islanders and the Thrashers.

Why is this place a ghost town?
This site should have hundreds of Sabres fans by now. What are you doing to recruit people? I swear, I’ll make an account on the Sabres message boards(which suck and are full of idiots) and get 10 – 20 people over here in now time.

It's getting better but...
not nearly as good as it could be. We tried the recruiting thing and it didn’t work real well. It’s funny because their are a bunch of Sabres blogs/fan sites that have their groups and they are really loyal to them. The commenting has just picked up recently and once some people comment, others are sure to follow.

Yeah, I’ve been a long time reader of Mirtle’s blog, so I figured I’d give the ol’ local Sabres SB Nation blog a shot.
I read a lot of the other sites (Goose’s Roost, etc), but don’t comment on any. I like the game threads here, but I’m still getting a feel for the community.
I really enjoy this place, but the commenting is really infrequent and opinions tend to be held onto, mine included.
I’ve been addicted to Buffalo Rumblings since February. There’s a ton of characters over there, constant postings and stories, and heated debate. I guess that’s what a decade with no-playoffs can get you.
But honestly, I think Sabres fans are actually more reactive to circumstances than Bills fans, especially after losing Drury and Briere, post-President’s Trophy season. Those two years were magical, but honestly, we were not a complete hockey team in the vein of Detroit and, now, Pittsburgh. Washington would be if they had a real expirienced goalie (Varmalov will be good, just isn’t yet, this season will prove) but that’s beside the point. I would have liked to see Drury stay out of the two, but am not broken up about his departure. We have young talented guys that can grow with this team over the next 4 to 6 years. A couple of Vets here and there and a solid backup netminder (not Lalime, I like Enroth) round out the core. That’s what creates a winning atmosphere. I really think the Sabres are better than they’ve been in the last 2 seasons but lots of Sabres fans seem tenative to talk about it unless it’s Reiger or Ruff bashing. I believe they actually did a lot of things right this off-season.
We just need to write up fanposts more frequently when we have thoughts and ideas. Dave does a great job here, even though I would like more articles just to stir up conversation… but we’re all busy. The fanposts should serve that purpose anyways. We’ll keep ourselves in check as far as bashing goes, that’s the way BR does it, but opinions are always invited and enjoyed… even if they’re wrong.

Your marketing needs work. There are so many types of message board raids that one of them is bound to work. This place needs more people. It’s simply too well run to be missed.
