Myers to Juniors??? What does everyone think?
Now that I've had the opportunity to watch the Sabres through the first two weeks of the season, I have to say I'm impressed by the teams ability to win tight games. Other than the lucky bounce the Habs got in the opener that cost them a point, I think its fair to say that while most of the pieces of the puzzle are the same (coaches and players), the ability to finish close games has changed since last year.
But one thing can undue all of it. If the Sabres decide to send Tyler Myers back to juniors before his 10 game allowance, it will send a clear signal to the team and fans that the they clearly have their mind set on saving money and not reaching the playoffs. I'm not saying Myers is the next great defenseman in the league, but after 4 games you can tell he belongs in the NHL. But he has been as solid as any other blue-liner so far.
By the way, great job with the site D.O., keep up the fantastic work!!

he’s here for good
Got some work to do before being a playoff team let alone a contender again!

He is obviously good enough
I don’t think this is a question of whether or not he is good enough to stay. This is would be a strictly financial situation for the future. He has played well enough to stay with the Sabres but they have to decide if it is worth it for his contract to kick in.

Could you imagine the uproar though from the fanbase if they sent him down. It would be a PR nightmare

should meyers stay.
meyers will be here for atleast his 10 gm allowance. the only downside to him being here all season is that with his rookie contract he will be a free agent sooner and will command alot of attention on the market. i understand he will be a U.A. but we all saw how that worked out with vanek. with that all being said i think he should stay.
No doubt
Myers stays. it would be an outright injustice to send him back to juniors because of the contract. given that tallinder and lydman’s deals are done at the end of the year I don’t think the contract will play into whether or not he stays. at 19 yrs. old he adds an element to the team that has been lacking. he can skate, handle the puck, play solid defense and has not shown to be a liability in any phase of the game.

Tyler "only I can fit into my shoes" Myers is D.O. 's brother

That's the funny part . . . .
It’s obvious to the fans (at least for now) thnk Myers should stay, but that’s my point. The front office of the Sabres has making/saving money it’s first priority. It is a PR nightmare – just like a lot of the decisions that have been made since 48 and 23 left. This is a very good opportunity for Regier to receive some positive praise from the fan base for making the decision to keep him, even if it isn’t the most cost effective move.

The thing that’s most important is that Hank was +5 against the Wings. His skating, hitting and passing was like before his recession. Myers is making Hank better. Paetsch or Ellis (which makes me sad) goes bye bye when Mair comes back. Paille needs to be traded because Ruff won’t use him. Kennedy is staying as well.
