MORE OFFENSE ADDED:RYDER

Bruins definetly needed some offense last year especially against the Canadiens during the season and postseason which they fell short on. Adding Michael Ryder from the Canadiens definetly will boost that. Few years ago Ryder was a 30+ goal scorer, tooooo much pressure in Montreal, last 2 years he's only averaged 15 goals a season. This could be a turn around year for Ryder especially playing on a line with Marc Savard could easily turn him to a top scorer on the bruins squad. With Patrice Bergeron and Manny Fernandez coming from season ending injuries, adding Ryder to the mix and a healthy Bruins blueline, could be a great year and playoffs for the Bruins.  Bobby_orr70_medium

by Lion Alum on Jul 21, 2008 4:08 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

bruins

we’re both in same division/conference so might as well bring some bruins facts in here, and there is no bruins Blog room on SB Nation, unless you know how to create a room, please let me know

If you want to become the SB Nation Broonz blogger

Go down and hit the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of the page. The SB Nation staff will help you out however they also require a certain degree of quality and reliability that might be intimidating for someone who has never run a website before. If you want a good example of what is required and one which is more accessible to you as a Boston fan, check out the very well done Pats Pulpit.

If you think you can do it to SB Nation’s satisfaction, go ahead. I’m certain we’d all like to get every team in the league with their own blog on the network.

I agree with Calvert

But I also want to say that we appreciate any and all comments and posts. Ryder has the potential to be a pretty good player but I think that he may have been extremely overpaid.

where do you guys really see buffalo this year? realistic

by 2006 on Jul 30, 2008 1:28 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

buffalo is going to be very dependent

not only on Miller (and his backup) but on the 2nd and mainly the 3rd year players like vanek, pommers, roy, sakera, weber, stafford…ect…the key this year will be consistancy, I believe that was the biggest disapointment from last year, if you look at the stats the sabres were still one of the highest goal scoring teams, however that didn’t come on a consistant nightly basis as the previous year, (losing players like briere and drury will do that to you), if they can be more consistant with thier play night in and night out I think this team will be something to wrekon (sp?) with…also the OT shootout, we absolutely sucked last year in OT shootouts (similarly to the previous year where we were awesome) if we can get those couple of points that we missed out on in those shootouts this team makes the playoffs last year (not that it would have helped b/c Pittsburgh freakin dominated the east) but it would have been nice to show that this team can make a post season appearance after loosing to valuable players (3 if you count soupy)...but really it boils down to consistancy and OT if we can lock up those two items this team is tough, they played hard and I know they can compete and pretty much win any game they play hard in…it’s just getting them to play hard all the time (which is tough in an 82 game schedule)...they will make the playoffs this year but I am seeing them getting bounced in the second round in a groulling 7 game series to the Pens (lets get that rivalry going already)

sabres

sabres lost too many good players over these last few years and i dont see them doing much in eastern conference this year. Losing Brierre and Drury is a big kick in the groin and boy does it hurt. Sabres went from #1 team in eastern conference with brierre and drury to not making the playoffs at all. Im surprised they didnt go for hossa, sundin, redden, they didnt do anything so far this year to help them out after a lousy last year

well

considering that Buffalo lost two of the bettter player in the league and still finished only 4 points behind boston says more to me about boston than it does about Buffalo…I think you need to worry about your own team first before you worry about the Sabres…

D.O., could you please ban this guy…it’s obvious that he is just trying to bait us into stupid pissing match b/c he feels inferior about his team(s)
