Sabres sign Lalime
TSN and Sportsnet are both reporting that the Sabres have signed goalie Patrick Lalime. It appears that Buffalo has themselves a steady backup for Ryan Miller. I never gave much mention to Lalime because I thought he was out of the price range of Buffalo for a backup but the team thought that $1 million per season was fair market value for a backup goalie. I only budgeted $750K for a backup but Darcy said the team would spend $50 million this season so he fits in my plan.
Let's hear it folks...what are your thoughts on the Sabres first free agent signing.

honestly
this issue is really dependant on Lalime…I mean I was pumped when buf signed Jocelyn Thibault last season, I thought he would be a solid net minder and a great backup for Miller and would give him chances to rest multiple games at a time…and we found that wasn’t the case, Thibault was spotty at best, sure he had some good games but he had more bad ones and I never like our chances when he was in net…sure Lalime sounds good now but we’ll see how that works out when miller needs to rest and Lalime needs to be solid when we need him…if you think about it if Thibault could have won one or two of the games he got blown out in we might (MIGHT) have made the playoffs this last season…not that, that would have done any good as we would have gotten beaten by the Pens (they dominated the east post season) but it would have been nice

isnt this our 3rd backup in like 2 1/2 years or something like that… anyways we the sabres need a change in either management or in owners bc Golisano sucks as an owner and pinches his pennys too much but if he does sell keep the team in Buffalo bc if they didnt the Hearts of every Sabre’s fan living in Buffalo will be rip out of their chest
