[Open Thread] Buffalo Sabres @ Washington Capitals

       vs

7:30PM TV:MSG Radio:WGR55

After a big win last night the for the Sabres they return home to take on the red hot Washington Capitals.  The Caps beat up on the Boston Bruins Monday Night by beating them 10-2 with Alexander Ovechkin netting a hat trick. The Caps have won three of their last four with the only loss coming to Toronto 3-2 on Saturday.

The Sabres and Caps have already met three times this season with Buffalo winning all three.  The Sabres have outscored the Caps by a margin of 15-7 in the three games.  The last meeting was on December 14 and Buffalo won a 5-3 score.  The Sabres would love to rekindle the magic they had back on October 13 when they beat Washington 7-3 and out shot them 53-26.  Buffalo is only 1-for-14 on the power play against Washington this season.

Power Play

That was a terrible power play.  They need to get better than that.

Momentum

So much for momentum.  They were playing well and then they give up two breakaways.

Another breakaway

How do you let Ovechkin get a breakaway?  This is not a very good situation.

Lydman and Kalinin

These two guys suck...they allowed the Ovechkin goal and now they allow that opportunity.  They are just plain awful.

That's all it takes is a power play and a goal.  They're right back in it!

Unbelievable

First Kalinin gets beat with another breakaway and than Ovechkin trips Bernier and no call.  The puck ends up in the back of the net.  Unbelievable!
