Season Series: 0-0-1

07-08: 2-1-1

The Thrashers took two points from the Sabres in the first meeting between these two teams.  The Thrashers jumped out to an early two goal lead before the Sabres battled back with a goal late in the second period and another late goal in the third.  Neither team scored in the overtime and Atlanta eventually won in a shootout.  Patrick Lalime was in goal for the Sabres the last time the two teams met.

Ryan Miller is expected to start for the Sabres after three days off.  Miller has not allowed a goal in his last two games rebounding from his worst performance of the season against Tampa Bay.  Miller is leading the league in Goals Against Average allowing only 1.62 goals a game.

The Sabres will come in with fresh legs, there last game was a 2-0 shutout of the New Jersey Devils.  Buffalo will also have Jochen Hecht back in the lineup for the first time since he had surgery to repair a broken finger on October 14.

The Thrashers come to Buffalo after beating the New York Islanders 4-3 on Thursday night.  The Thrashers trailed 3-1 after two periods and scored three third period goals to earn the victory.

Who's Hot

Stafford

Not sent down but he’s a healthy scratch.

I’m not Lindy Ruff but if they aren’t going to play him…they might as well send him to Portland so he can play.

That is terrible defense…friggin Connolly!

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 7:44 PM EST reply actions

Don't like the lines

I would have played Connolly with Mair and Afinogenov…C-Mac has been playing so well with Pomminville

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 7:46 PM EST reply actions

why does ruff always change the lines like that

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 7:47 PM EST reply actions

Hecht is back

He needed to go somewhere…it was a matter of dropping Connolly down or C-Mac…he chose C-Mac

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 7:48 PM EST up reply actions

if players are jelling together it makes sence to keep it that way

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 7:48 PM EST reply actions

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 7:52 PM EST reply actions

Kovalchuk

What a lazy play by Kovalchuk…he didn’t even try to get back on sides and than he slowly went to the bench…a lazy selfish play.

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 7:52 PM EST reply actions

they’ve got us skating in circles again

Joan

by Tony_O on Nov 7, 2008 8:25 PM EST reply actions

Goals

MacArthur and Kotalik for Buffalo

J. Williams for Atlanta

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 8:27 PM EST up reply actions

He has an advantage

He was able to talk to people regarding the Drew Stafford situation

I knew he signed when he was 20 and that would mean he would have needed to play 160 games and he hasn’t done that yet.

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 8:27 PM EST reply actions

Acess

That pisses me off because I researched that for over an hour and could not find anything about the age being considered 21 even though he signed when he was 20. Damn I’m pissed!

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 8:28 PM EST up reply actions

what a Shot

I have the Minnesota Golden Gophers- New Hampshire College Hockey Game on the TV with Center Ice acting wierd tonight, Aaron Ness for the Gophers Just Tried to Pull off a Between the Legs While he was Falling, Hit the Pipe unfortunatly.

what was that shit

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 8:45 PM EST reply actions

roy got help crashing into that net why no penalty

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 8:48 PM EST reply actions

He shouldn't have been there

He has no business in the crease so the goalie should be able to do what he wants to him

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 8:49 PM EST up reply actions

i don’t think he went in on his own

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 8:50 PM EST reply actions

To the crease?

He certainly did…the goalie pushed him into the net

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 8:52 PM EST up reply actions

Good PK

That is why Vanek is so dangerous on the PK

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 8:53 PM EST reply actions

do you think it's possible

that miller hurt himself on that first save of the game he did really stretch out and i don’t think he’s been that sharp since the rebounds he’s let go are not like him

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 8:56 PM EST reply actions

my boy!!

Way to go Timmy!!!

by HO on Nov 7, 2008 8:57 PM EST reply actions

those are some ugly pads he has

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:03 PM EST reply actions

did you just watch miller

leave the ice i really don’t think he’s himself if not hurt he’s sick i’m telling you

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:07 PM EST reply actions

wasn't watching

keep in mind that he always leaves the ice hunched over and he is the last to leave

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 9:08 PM EST reply actions

this is our period so let’s end it right

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:24 PM EST reply actions

that's better

they made some shots at least i was begining to think they were just going to keep dumping it and try to sit on the lead not big enough for that

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:29 PM EST reply actions

What an ass that ref is

I hate when the ref displays emotion like that…the league should do something about that because their job is to make calls…players will complain…that’s what players do. To display your emotion as a ref is disgraceful to the game.

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 9:35 PM EST reply actions

Are you kidding

This is bad…they have to be able to clear the damn puck

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 9:36 PM EST reply actions

what are we doing?

we are really soft in our own end tonight

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 9:38 PM EST reply actions

What a move

That was awesome and it was probably in but they can’t call it a goal…you can’t see it in the net. It went inside his jersey that is awesome!

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 9:40 PM EST reply actions

i told they were sitting on it ever rob agree’s

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:47 PM EST reply actions

move it guys other end

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:49 PM EST reply actions

damn

shoot that puck go

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:51 PM EST reply actions

thank you ryan

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:53 PM EST reply actions

that is when i have a problem with refs

they called Rivet earlier and deservedly so, now they let that hook go and it was blatant…his jersey was pulled backwards.

by David Oleksy on Nov 7, 2008 9:57 PM EST reply actions

it's been that way

all game especially this period

Joan

by Joan O. on Nov 7, 2008 9:58 PM EST reply actions

freaking "A"

how did we loose that.
