The Sabres finally ended their five game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins. It doesn't get much easier for Buffalo as they welcome the Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins to the HSBC Arena.
The Sabres proved they can play with the Pens but like many teams have don ethis season, they allowed the Pens a third period onslaught. The Penguins scored four third period goals to beat the Sabres 5-2 at the Igloo.
Thomas Vanek scored a goal in the game against Pittsburgh and he is questionable for the game with a lower body injury. Lindy Ruff termed it as "a deep bruise below his hip", The Buffalo News is reporting that he didn't practice but expects to play.

The Buffalo News is reporting that Vanek is highly questionable and if he can play that Max is likely to be in the press box.
As Frank pointed out yesterday, John Curry is expected to make his first NHL start in goal for the Penguins this evening.

but he still got a shot on goal. That is apparently the definition of the rule. He should have fallen down and took out the goalie, than he would have got the penalty shot.

The Pens tend to get angry when they give up a goal. As if seeking retribution ASAP. They’ve done it all year, and even with two minutes left I’m not ruling them out
