Blues' McKee loses spot in practice
It's been a rough ride for Jay McKee ever since he left for the Blues. He's finally healthy this year, but at this point he could fall behind four rookies on the depth chart.

It's a shame
He was such a good player for the Sabres and yet he left for the money and criticized the organization in the process. I haven’t watched a lot of St. Louis this season but he looked pretty good the other night. I guess it depends on what you want out of him…he is limited in what he can do but he has always been good in his own zone.

Yeah, from what I’ve seen I think he’s been pretty solid this season, too. One of the issues — and the local paper goes into this more today — is their “top” D take up a lot of payroll and each have extraneous issues that amplify the pressure.
Fans are absolutely not sold on Brewer (he’s been inconsistent, there was widespread shock when he was named captain, and he unfairly represents the Pronger deal and the idiotic former ownership that dumped Pronger to "increase the attractiveness of the club to potential buyers). Jackman is strong but not nearly as effective as he was before shoulder surgery and before the NHL decided to enforce the letter of the rulebook. McKee has had constant bad-luck injuries, and now he looks like bad payroll weight, but at the time he was signed, the Blues had to overpay someone just to get reliable bodies on board.
