Buffalo Sabres - News: SABRES ASSIGN EIGHT PLAYERS TO PORTLAND - 10/03/2008
It looks as though Gerbe will begin the season with the Portland Pirates as well as Zagrapan and Mancari. Mancari has to pass through waivers in order to be sent down. I would guess the Sabres were not enamored with Mathieu Darche since they claimed Matt Ellis. Darche will also have to pass through waivers.
