It was a tough week for players that are the property of the Buffalo Sabres.  The hockey season is always full of ups and downs but the prospects we have been highlighting, certainly had a poor week as a group.

The Nominees

  • Nick Crawford (Saginaw Spirit) - Crawford had a very productive week for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League.  Crawford had three assists and was an impressive plus seven in three contests this past week.
  • Drew Schiestel (Niagara Ice Dogs) - The 2007 second round draft pick had his best week of the season with a goal and four assists.  He had a goal and two assists in a 4-2 over the Peterborough Petes on Monday.  He was selected as the games first star.
  • Phillip Gogulla (Kolner Haie) -  Gogulla is spending one more season playing in Germany before he comes to play for the Sabres or Portland and he is taking advantage of it.  He scored two goals in his first game of this week and was held off the scoresheet in his second.

Last Weeks Prospect of the Week:  TJ Brennan (1-2-3, +4)
